From zero to a working AI workstation

After this course

After this course you can point an AI assistant at real files on your own computer and stay in control of what happens next. You install Claude Code and Codex, run them inside a practice folder that holds nothing you would mind losing, read a proposed plan before approving any of it, and check the result in the place it was supposed to land. You write prompts that carry a goal, the context, the constraints and the output shape you want, and you repair a weak answer where it stands. Your standing rules live in an AGENTS.md file and your decisions live in an Obsidian vault, so the next session starts where the last one finished.

What you will be able to do

• Run a complete Claude Code session in read only mode and prove nothing changed, by comparing file timestamps taken before and after.
• Write a prompt carrying a goal, context, constraints and a named output shape, then repair a weak answer by pointing at the exact line that is wrong.
• Give Codex a written work order, choose its sandbox and approval level, and move your standing rules into an AGENTS.md file so you stop retyping them every session.
• Install the beginner skill pack, list what actually loaded, read a skill's instructions before you trust it, and run Prompt Engineer on a fictional brief.
• Build an Obsidian vault with a Brain note and an External References note, so an agent arriving cold knows where everything is and what to read first.
• Prove a finished task in its destination using links, counts and file states, so completion becomes something a stranger could check.
